Be honest…You smiled when you first saw our Lugez pictures? Imagine your smile when you have the real deal at a part.
And now I would like to discuss your other options for an ice luge.
Have you ever tried buying a hand scultpred Luge? It would cost between $400 - $2000 to have one made. The positive side of hand sculptured luges is they are very beautiful and can be made into any shape you desire. However, they obviously come at a huge expense. And there is a large amount of coordinating to get one for a party. First you must decide which company to use for your luge, then pick the luge, pay the big bucks, arrange for a shipping day, and finally get it.
Another option is buying ice blocks. This too can get to be pricey. Ususally it will cost ~$300 to get a decent ice luge going. You will also need to engineer something to hold it at the proper angle and hold the weight of the ice. It probably isn’t the best idea to use these indoors…so these ice luges are for the outside only. But don’t get me wrong…I love these luges. They are classics and I would defintaly hit one again when the opportunity arrises.
The last option is to make one yourself. And have you seen all the different attempts at making your own luge? It is definatly a challenge to try and produce your own. Do a google search for making an ice luge and you will see the crazy ideas people use to make there own luges. It ends up costing more time and money then buying blocks of ice…..and definetly way more time and money then purchasing one our Lugez. It would be a fun project for some people to make there own, but ends up being more work and disappointment in the end.
